3/21 HelloBaby Volunteering
Volunteer with HelloBaby on 3/21 from 10am - 12pm at the nation’s first (and only) free standing, free of charge drop in play space for babies, toddlers and their caregivers. Volunteers will read and make Spring-themed crafts with families visiting HelloBaby.

3/26 Equal Pay Rally
Take a lunch break on Thursday, March 26th from 12-1pm at the Daley Center to join the annual Chicago Equal Pay Day Rally with Women Employed!

4/9 Grantmaking in Action
For our 4th signature event of the year, EDA members will meet IRL at Impact House to deliberate on our inaugural grant partners for each giving circle. Dinner and drinks will be served.
Our first year celebration will be on June 8, 2026 from 6 - 8pm. Please mark your calendar!

3/8 International Women's Day Walk
The EDA community made a team for Sarah’s Circle’s 34th annual Winter Walk, a one-mile tour around Uptown “in the shoes” of a woman experiencing homelessness in Chicago.

2/28 Volunteering
EDA members visited Chicago Abortion Fund’s offices to learn from their team and packed post-abortion care packages for people getting care in Illinois clinics.

2/21 Lunar New Year Celebration
Members met at HANA Center’s Lunar New Year celebration to support the community event and help their staff with event clean-up.

2/15 Black History Month Outing
The EDA community celebrated Black History Month with a trip to the DuSable Museum, plus a brunch at Ja’ Grill Hyde Park.

2/9 Member Mixer
For our third signature event of the year, members gathered at Impact House to discuss our inaugural year of grantmaking, best practices for collective giving, and for dinner from Hala In, a local restaurant.

1/29 Reboot Your Network For A Better World
We partnered with the Baumhart Center for Social Enterprise and Responsibility at Loyola University Chicago as one of 34 co-hosts for a networking event with Social Impact professionals in Chicago.

1/19 MLK Day Volunteering
We partnered with My Block, My Hood, My City to support their MLK Jr. Day volunteering event, delivering groceries, resource guides, and gift cards to community members and senior centers across Lawndale. Members also met up beforehand at Monday Coffee Co.

1/14 Use Your Skills for Good Webinar
We partnered with Compass Pro Bono for a Zoom session on skills-based volunteering and how to use your expertise to support local nonprofits.

1/4 Volunteering
Members kicked off 2026 with a happy hour and volunteering event at Solemn Oath Brewery Still Life in Logan Square! Together, we made 100+ sandwiches in support of Inspiration Corporation, a highly effective local nonprofit that provides social services, job training, housing, and food to Chicagoans in need.

12/16 Virtual Book Club
We were honored to be joined by Amanda Litman, co-founder of Run for Something and author of When We're in Charge: The Next Generation’s Guide to Leadership for a virtual book club on next-gen leadership! We encourage members to buy the book via Bookshop or at your local book store!

12/2 Giving Tuesday Panel and Dinner
Members gathered at Impact House for our second signature event of the year! We had dinner from local restaurant Jarabe Taqueria, and members learned more about the work of nonprofit leaders Jason Coleman at Project SYNCERE, Erica Patrick at Southside Blooms, and Sharmili Majmudar at Women Employed. The panel was moderated by Michael Liptrot at Block Club Chicago.

11/16 Volunteering
Volunteers joined us at Goose Island Taproom to pack sandwiches and healthy snacks for Chicagoans facing food insecurity. Over 20+ members joined us, and we delivered meals to Sarah’s Circle and to the Hermosa Love Fridge.

10/6 Launch Party
Our first year of programming launched in October 2025 and will run through June 2026! Supporters came together at Bronzeville Winery to share food and drinks, and learn more about community engagement from Carlos Ramirez-Rosa of the Chicago Parks District, Dorri McWhorter of the Executives’ Club of Chicago, and Dan Tollefson of The Chicago Community Trust.
